Feeling the ground vibrate with thunder,
Men fought for what they believed in,
Much more than life, this was grander --
Pure freedom, tasting sweet freedom
With each passing day and each fight,
The hope of a country united
Was stretching, reaching for light.
The beauty of a new world was coming,
Though many saw not the fine day
When Scots were unbound from the shackles
To their courage and dreams I say...
