Hi all,
I may be jumping the gun( so to speak), but I personally want to help.
There is post on Facebook from Albannach. I think the best thing we can do is to really show our support by helping with even as little as $2.00.  I know times are tough still for everyone, but I know my medical bills were very high for my THR.
Please think about it. Here is a copy of the post on Facebook

Albannach would like to thank everybody for the outpouring of support and prayers. These messages on here have kept the entire band in great spirits. You, the fans are the reason we do what we do ! Yes, someone pointed out that if all the fb fans donated even just $1, it would really add up.  So I gave more and I hope others do as well.  Thanks for posting it here as well  :)

Gave a "tank full"....hopefully we can really off-set those awful medical expenses...that shouldn't have accrued AT ALL!!!

Folks, let's keep donating as much and as often as we can, not just once. I work in medical billing and I know what people have to face when they get out of the hospital. It can be overwhelming!

Pass it around. Tell everyone you know. Keep the donations coming in. It's very important!!!!

The band comes here to the U.S. to try to make a living.....we can't let him suffer this injury plus the financial burden of it too!!!
Even if we all just donate a couple of bucks....Bring your lunch to work one day a week instead of getting take-out!....we could make a huge difference! PLEASE!!!

Yes, it is overwhelming, and those bills will keep coming some months after. We are talking a lot of help is needed.
( In a just world, the one person should pay the bills) We don't live in that world.
I agree with Morven, put as much in the Nach tank as we can afford. I know we are going to. Even if we have to wait until Pleasanton 2012 to see them. The last thing any of them need is to worry about bills. They have given us so much, it is time to give back. Weekly, Bi - Monthly, Monthly, Once. What ever you can do, just do it. Jamesie needs to think about healing so he can jump around with that drum. He can't do that and worry about anything else. Those of you close to them, I am sure you will jump in where needed. We have never met them or seen them play, but we are sure going to stand beside them through this.

If you've ever experienced the band LIVE.....and had that feeling come over you, when Donnie starts blowing the pipes....and the drumbeats start.....you get goosebumps & the hair on the back of your neck stands up!!
You catch sight of Jamesie jumping & pounding on his drum....you get caught up in it & it transports you somewhere else....somewhere better!
You want to feel , see ,& hear these things over & over.....never want it to stop.....

and if you have experienced the Pleasure that is ALBANNACH, then you need to give back to them....
Let them know they mean something to us all!!

Ideally that should be the case, but even if a court of law were to award damages to James, that doesn't mean that he would actually receive them, as the courts don't collect the $, especially if the person who caused the problem doesn't have the money in the first place.

When my head stopped spinning I started asking questions around the office and made a couple of phone calls. The city of Miami covers victims of accidents and I've sent bills to Tallahassee for victims of crimes.

I made some phone calls and it seems that the state of Kentucky may have something similar. The person on the phone told me there's something called The Kentucky Victims of Crime Act Formula Program that provides funding for certain organizations. There are also some non-profit organizations that provide legal aid or assistance with medical expenses. I'm still putting information together as I type this and someone in the office may have some info for me tomorrow on a Federal level.

All that being said, the hospital admitting dept and their social worker should have a  list of options available, anywhere from debt forgiveness to financial aid programs or not for profit organizations that may be able to help.
