Dana - congrats on 7 yrs!  That is awesome.  I was blessed by having cancer; I can say now I truly know what is important in this life and who are the people that love me.

I'm glad everything is going well with the hip Barbara    Congrats on the puppy. Love the name. Hope to see some pictures soon.
 
My mom is doing really well too. They stopped the chemo and put her on the pill that replaces it. Everything is stable at this point. Her hair is already beginning to come back. It helped that she keep in good spirits all through the whole thing.

Riddle me this.. so this year has been hell on my sinuses with the major temp changes , today's rain/chill following yesterdays sunshine/sitting outside is killing me,, BUT there are still things to be done so I throw on the most comfortable public friendly thing in my closet which happens to be a pair of yoga pants and what was supposed to be a fitted fleece top that I somehow grabbed the large in instead of the Small and head out,, no makeup, red nose, hair a disaster.. and somehow I had more guys checking me out than I do when i'm all gussied up for work.. so the question becomes,, do men find women who look highly contagious incredibly sexy or do they simply figure they're too sick to outrun them?

Could be that when you are all gussied up then you intimidate the male species, and when you are at the stage you describe you are a little more "girl next door". 
It could also be as simple as the fleece and yoga pants look easier to get you out of than a fancy outfit.  Don't ask me, I like all women.

Maybe they're tired of women who are too "fixed up" and enjoy someone just being real.  Guys are strange, though.  My hubby equally loves me in this awful hoodie I have that's two sizes too big and so ick that I would never wear in public, and my really cute jeans that are form fitting and make my butt look really awesome.

I quit buying lingerie.  It doesn't last 2 minutes.  Nothing on is cheaper.

lol, as long as it doesn't take longer than 2 mins to put it on then it isn't too bad but really good scotch seems to work even better than lingerie!

I tend to agree with Chris and Catherine "too fixed" up could be seen as "high maintenance", which could be costly and can come across as self centered.  I suppose, Chris that easy access can be a plus, that could be why women like guys in kilts?    It depends on taste, I guess. My ex used to tell me I didn't need make-up 'cause I was one of the lucky few who didn't need it (which meant a lot, he didn't give compliments easily), yet when I put some makeup on I still see people do double takes at me.  Anything goes, I suppose, as long as you don't go overboard. Some people cross the line into the ridiculous. Lingerie works but I don't think it's that essential. The wrapper can be nice, but it's the candy you're after. As for the scotch, it's good for starters, but it can have dissapointing side effects

I'm still sticking to my lingerie & alcohol....it's tried & true!!
and if you wear it right, the lingerie can stay on from foreplay right on through to the "finish line"!!

A wise woman once said " diets make you look good in clothing, exercise makes you look good naked! "  I wear lingerie for me, nothing overly complicated though, being 5'0" garter belts are a no go, the belts come to my knees and the stockings to my ass so you see the issue.. but I do enjoy wearing a pretty chemise or a matching set of some sort under my every day stuff just makes me feel super feminine even when i'm doing super non feminine stuff like fixing the roof or changing my oil.

That reminds me of a joke that one of my college literature professors told the class of a guy on a beach.  His friend told him to stuff a potato in his speedo to impress the ladies.  Only he put the potato in the back instead of the front...  Another girl and I spent the rest of the class snorting periodically in barely contained laughter.

Though a newbie...here's another aspect.

Personally, I'm more interested on what's "inside" the woman (no snickering now....)

I liken a woman to a Christmas gift. Sure, the present looks real pretty in the morning, wrapped neatly in shiny paper and a big bow to top everything off. But the first thing you do is take everything off the exterior of the gift because you want to see what's inside...to see the true gift.

Call me old fashioned...but I'd just as soon have a nice quiet evening at home, curled up on the couch (with company of the female persuasion) and watching a good movie, as I would going out and getting all liquored up and having to redecorate the bathroom after spending too much time there, trying to sell Ralph Nader a Buick or two...maybe three...hmmm.
