Door knob girls,, everyone takes a turn darling.. lol

I sometimes miss having a regular circle of friends but those tend to break apart when people get married or end up with jobs that require extensive hours or have 80 kids and sometimes for no real obvious reason at all..

Ah-ha. I've heard of being the town bicycle, but never a door knob. And Google only gave me pics of Japanese girls licking door knobs. Apparently that's a thing, now.

so I started the day off feeling pretty high still from a great weekend watching Albannach play in Ft.Myers....but knew it couldn't last!
I got brought back down to reality with the 1st person to walk thru the Animal Hospital door this am!
She had just found a little cat along the side of the road & thankfully, brought it in to put it out of it's misery...someone had run it over...but it was still very much alive...and in tremendous pain with a broken back & intestines hanging out!
We tried to sedate it immediately but with little or no blood flow to it's back end the tranquilizers weren;t kicking in...and she was thrashing & biting at us....finally with tears streaming down my face , I had to put on chain maile gloves &  reach in the carrier to place a mask over her face & give her an inhalant anesthesia so we could end her suffering....F^ck Sometimes I really hate my job!!!

Hope the rest of you are having a better day than I.....and I hope next weekend's fun will stay with me a little longer! :'(

Damn! and I was complaining about a heavy workload! That really sucks. I used to think sometimes that it would be nice to work with animals and then I realised what I would have to go through. I don't think I could deal with that!

On a happier note. I was busy last night, but tonight I'm looking forward to going home and getting the pics and vids out of both cameras. Keeping my fingers crossed that my first attempt at video turned out well

Sorry you had such a bad day.  I appreciate how much you care about them and want to help them.  I love animals so much, my own dogs and cats especially.  I get so attached that I know it would be tough to work with them in a vet's office.  Even the animals on my in-laws farm.  We've become attached to the chickens or ducks, and the coyotes get them.  Or one of the goats dies, and it just breaks your heart.

I'll throw in my "on a happier note" too.  I've applied for an accounting manager position where I work.  I should be interviewing in the next few days, I imagine.  I think I want it.   LOL   And I've made up my mind for sure to head to Tennessee in May for the Smoky Mountain Scottish Games.  It's only about 5 hours down and I can have a nice vacation while I'm at it.  Anyone else going?

Good luck with your interview   :D

It would be wonderful to make it to Tennessee in May. I love the Smokies and haven't been there in a while.  Maybe I'll win the lottery  :roll

Glad you had a better day!!!

You know, May is the earliest I'll have been to the Smokies.  I've been in June and October.  October is my favorite.  Last time we were there in October it was freezing cold.  I was so glad I threw the heavy coat in the car at the last minute.  This time I'm taking my mom.  We haven't done a trip together in a few years.   She also wants to see Biltmore over in Ashville, so that will be on our itinerary at some point.

And yes, anyone going to Scotland in April, please lots and lots of pictures and video for those of us who can't go and will be in jealous agony the entire time. :D

Have fun Catherine. Sounds like a wonderful time is ahead. Many of my friends have recomended Ashville to me. I want to make it there at some point.

As Scarlet knows, I'm a shutterbug, so there will be plenty of pictures of both the upcoming gigs and the Scotland trip. I'm going after work to get a memory card for the camera and will be buying more in the near future. I don't promise the pictures will be good, but there will be plenty.  :8

I think I took about 1500 from the last trip to Scotland. Thank God for digital photography! I don't have to restrain myself, just make sureI have enough memory cards with me. When I went to England last time I took about 500. Developing all that film cost me about as much as the vacation!  :%

On a random note, I had a cute story I kept forgetting to pass along.  I have a couple of pictures on my work computer, from last summer, of some of the guys.  A while back I had one of Jamesie as my background and a co-worker passed by, stopped dead in her tracks, and said, "Oooo!  You've got that man on there again!"   LOL

I was reminded of her funny reaction when I changed my computer background to that picture again this week, as I needed a little pick-me-up.

Damn computer backgrounds,, course now it's also phone backgrounds that'll get you in trouble many moons ago I met a guy in a bar , became highly intoxicated and he followed me home , carried me up the steps to my flat and gently laid me on my bed,, on my computer monitor was a black and white photo of my recent ex boyfriend from his calender shoot, clad in a torn flannel shirt and tight pale jeans,, his blonde hair the envy of most women at the time,, and the guy says to me " oh so that's the kind of guy you like "  course I mumble " that's my ex boyfriend" after which the guy gracefully made his exit..

doh!

Well, good..it's not just me. I have Aya on my computer (and my desk calendar). My boss asked me if I thought it was appropriate to have a "half naked man" as my background at work. I said that was the least inappropriate thing that goes on in this building and looking at the "half naked man" makes me happy and want to come to work so she should leave me alone!  ;)

Congrats on the new hip, the puppy and on being cancer free!   I'll be cancer free 7 years on March 15  :drunk  As ironic and perhaps odd as it may sound to someone who's never gone through it dealing with it for 3 years of ups and downs of hope and disappointment  and all of the emotions that go with it it's actually something I wouldn't change because it changed me ,,I know now what's important and what isn't in my life and I know that myself and my family possess strength and courage to get through anything.
