You guys prob know by now that the band plan to record live at the WNC celtic festival in Black mountain NC this June....we sure would like all fans close by to come along and help make as much noise as poss for the recording....am sure Nach fans are up to the task!

Ya'll bring the beer, and Pappy and I will wear the bells! I don't know how familiar you are with the area, but any suggestions for camping besides the KOA listed? KOAs are campgrounds for peeps who don't know how to camp.

Sorry Pat, I really don't know of anything in the area. Asheville is only a 15 or 20 min. drive down the road, though--there are tons of options there! Btw, could you please send some Florida sunshine and warmth our way? We're in dire need!

quoted me a rate of $99/night (code: WNC), but a note fm Celtic Heritage that said he believes it will $109 after/on Monday.

Soooo, if you are planning on staying there (looks like a decent hotel) you might consider booking this weekend. ??

Has anyone been to the grounds where the festival is happening?..if so, what is the lay of the land?..reason being, that my friend, Betty has never seen the band and she has lung problems and can't climb hills so if it's flat enough, she will get to come see them...

I'm in same boat..mine is the weekend before, but it is ohhhh, 2,500? miles away on the far NW tip of Cananda

have never stayed in this hotel but drive by it twice a day and its in a decent section of town. Right off the interstate and only 15 mins from Blackmountain. Anyone have questions about hotels in the area...dont be afraid to ask. I do live here =-)

The hotel is actually on the outskirts of asheville and bordering Swannanoa. When i say decent, i dont mean anything bad by it. Typical hotel for just off the interstate =-)

Went down the mtn. to Pisgah Brewery to see Grace Potter and the Nocturnals last night. It was packed, awesome show and the new stage is great. Grounds nice, but I hope it is dry that weekend, and recommend wearing flats. <harumph>

Not doing half-as*ed doesn't necessarily mean DRUNK!!! All I meant was you need to be there ALL of Saturday, and not falling asleep while you are there! Of course...I might coerce you into sharing a pint or two or four or ten.....

The WNC site has said they will not have mixed drinks. No coolers as well. BUT, you can pay visits to your vehicle as long as you have your bracelet on.

Awesome time at WNC Saturday!! Horrible storm passed through, took two trees down in the field we were in...but Albannach made it all better!!! The show in the brewery was epic!! Missed Jamesie, but Aya did a great job pounding on the bass and playing the crowd!

Last night was the first time I've ever seen the Nach and OMG! They were better than anything I ever could have imagined! Got to meet everyone and they were awesome, especially Jacquie. Jamesie was missed, but as Tammy said, Aya made up for it...what a showman! Awesome job guys, can't wait to see you again!

The Friday night show was excellent, excellent, excellent! Missing Jamesie, and even Davey, but Aya blushed and did very well as the lead. Even Jacquie seemed more spirited instead of being serious.

Come Saturday, enjoying the vendors, when I get a call from my hubby who stayed at home in the Knoxville TN area, gave me a warning a bad storm was headed our way, about an hour and a half, and boy-o, did it come!

I don't beleive anyone was hurt besides scrapes and scratches, and for some of us who didn't get to shelter quick enough, we were picking and spitting debris for the rest of the day. A big tree came down ontop of one of the vendors tents, other merchandise was blown around tto. BIG winds, thunder and lightening. Torrential rains.

The Nach was scheduled to play just after the storm hit, but the outside band area was unusable. So they set up literally in the brewery, with vats as their backdrop!! And the sound was pretty darn good too!
The Saturday Night show was terrific, and when they offered up to auction off Aya as a prize, it was a blast! Too bad they weren't serious, I think they may have had one or two takers *wink*.

All in all, an excellent time, though could have been better without Mother Nature making herself heard. I'm gonna be there next year!
