Oh dear, I didn't mean to actually camp with the band  :red.  I meant to go camping somewhere the band was playing.  Sheesh - I really gotta watch how I say things, a girl could get misunderstood!

Yeah but more importantly - what do mean when you say you're a "gourdist goddess?"

This sounded awesome til I saw the date...no way I'll get time off for this and GFM...and GF is my first love.  (this would have been perfect THIS year.....since I couldn't make it to GFM!)

Hope it goes down without a hitch!  :D

Yeah.  I vote replacement.  :) I have been traumatized beyond repair by GFM.

Anyone know the campground details for this one, like are there actual bathrooms & showers?  This chick don't live well in the dirt.  :)

Will there be fireworks??

Okay, this is scaring me.... GFM is not listed on the tour dates.  It's all planned for my summer fix.....

I'm starting to get the jitters here.... please someone, tell me I miss-saw!

Let me preface by being clear that I know nothing so I can't reassure you.

I have heard via facebook that they have a new booking agent. You may see different events in their calendar.

Also, historically some events have taken longer to make it to the calendar than others, so don't give up hope. Could be that GMF doesn't confirm their calendar until later.

I have lost track... GFM used to have some rule which limited the numbers of years in a row a band could play.  Albannach kinda got thru a loop hole by being a new band.

But this is just speculation... soon the answer will be know.

Although I really have decided I have gone to my last GFMG (just personal preference and I'm a camping and weather weenie, that's why), I still can't fathom them not being there. But maybe Liz is right.

I suspect all will be revealed in due time!

That'll be sad if they don't make it...but I started going to GFM with my dad for the family history aspect (the band as it was then was a surprise and just the beginning of my addiction, LOL).

Most likely, if I can afford it...I'll still head to GFM regardless.  Hopefully some of my favorite misfits (and mebbe some new ones too) will be there also.  I can't plan a thing this early...winter is a bad time for cash flow.

However....DragonCon is the only commitment I'm making for next year this early...it saves me a ton of money.

Deb...I'll miss you if I make it...and I'm sorry I missed your last hurrah...hehe.  I still don't feel like I wasn't there.  Its weird. :D

I just hope to God I can actually manage more than ONE dang gig in 2011.  Sheesh.  Timing was WAY off this year.

I believe they had that posted for this summer also.

I know that the Gatlinburg TN Games have been moved down to Maryville TN in April, but I believe last I saw they were going to be there.

Still, though GFM was fun for everything, it just wouldn't bee the same.... *sniff*

I live in the area so GFM I'll do regardless, but will NOT be the same if Albannach is not playing at their rock this year!  They will still be in W NC 18-19 of June at Black Mtn for those of you Mtn folks/willing travelers :)  Would love to have confirmation on more dates though bc trying to plan trip hm to Cananda and hmland to Scotland next year too!

Those events were usually held in Boone (i.e. Broyhill Center).  If I remember correctly, the musicians on the mtn. played in what they called a celtic jam or celtic rock concert.  I hope whomever said that GMHG was perhaps slow to confirm bookings was correct... :)

During the day the music is largely in the groves....then at night we have the jam and concert.  I've never been able or inclined to leave the mtn for the shows down in Boone...so I was just confirming my addled memory when I asked. :D

I guess not having those off site shows saves some money, but keeps the core of the games in the meadows, where most people are. :)
