I'm sure this is fun place to hang around.

I guess that should be I'm looking forward to meeting misfits.

The different wigs ... I can't wear wigs now because they itch; I have a blue one and a dark brown one and am suppose to get a freebie one from the hospital but
haven't picked it up yet ... so I'll have fun playing around being a different person once the hair starts growing in and I have something to come between the wig
and my scalp. I tried wearing a cap under the wig but that alone doesn't help so I'm thinking a layer of hair and a cap will work.

As for tattooing my skulll ... thought of that also but I'm a chicken and won't do it. If I ever get a tat, it will be of Ryan's name on my ring finger, as I don't like wearing
rings; but I'm told that place will really hurt so I doubt I'll have any tats ... but wait!

When I get radiation I will be tattooed so they can place the machine in the exact
spot each time ... so one never knows what that will lead to. My idea for a skull tat was a claw coming up from my neck and ripping my skin on the skull and exposing the brain; pretty
scary for little 'ol me.

Nothing like shock value.

I cannot move today! Last Sunday I was dancing to Albannach and now it's a chore to move from the couch to the steps to make it to the privy.

Good gosh this different chemo drug is knocking me down; the pain is unbearable! I even took a pain pill which I rarely do.

I spent today (about 7.5 hours) in the emergency room.

I had a delayed allergic reaction to the different chemo drug.

I'm home and resting now; life surely throws curve balls when you think you're in the dug out taking a break.

God, lady, you've got such a better attitude than I would have. I'd be whining so loud they'd kick me the frig out of here.

I have 3 more chemo treatments, which will take me to the end of the year .. I get them every 3 weeks.
I still have a long haul getting over this round; I now have other drugs to take for 4 days to counteract the allergic reaction;
to top it off my oncologist is on vacation this week.

I want to stop the chemo as I'm so over this pain but if it's to 'make me better' and to 'make sure all the cancer' gets killed, then I
have to tolerate the side effects.

I wish I could give you some comfort.

All I can think of is a quote from the Never Ending Story "It's got to hurt if it's to heal". Personally, I would rather have the luck dragon than the pain (always loved that character).

I have no personal basis for what you are going through. I have a friend and colleague who I admire greatly. When I was in CA we had a day to ourselves to catch up. She told me about her Chemo treatments (breast cancer). She said that she had gotten to the point that she didn't want to go and was throwing childish (her words though I doubt it knowing the type of person she is) tantrums with lots of crying and refused to go. Her husband decided to take matters in his own hands and would bodily throw her over his shoulder and bring her to the car and take her to the treatments. She got through it. She looks back at the experience as a true indicator of her personal strength.

Oh, and she is still very happily married to her husband just in case you were wondering...

Don't worry about taking pain pills, you take whatever you really need to to get you through- strawberries, bubble baths, chocolate, fancy lingerie...

Thanks folks!

The other drugs I'm on to counter act the allergic reaction are only steriods and benadryl.

For me, that's a lot because I rarely even take anything for pain ... I'm one tough cookie!

My throat is open now (still hurts) but at least I can breathe.

I am going to try my best to make it into work tomorrow and see how long I can last; I really hate sitting at home.
Even though I'm in pain and my feet feel like they are about to fall off and my knees feel like an elephant (even though I don't have
a clue how an elephant feels!

) I managed to do two loads of laundry, clean & wash the cement yard from the doggie do, empty the dishwasher,
make Wild Bill & I lunch and take it to him; which he promptly yelled at me for being out of the house

, dealt with junk mail and talked on the phone.

There's a quote something like this:

A woman is like a teabag; one never knows how strong she is until she's put into hot water.

I think I've been steeping in boiling water for some time now
