Oh my gosh, it was so hard keeping this quiet; I couldn't wait to post it.   
Glad y'all got a laugh from it.   
Now I wish I was recording even prior to the start of the video - there were many more 'bloopers'.

Sad news:

Shifty Powers, one of the men of Easy Company, passed away last night.  He was battling cancer for several years.
He was one of the men that Mr. Guarnere was going to give the money to.  Wild Bill asked me to share this information with you.
Of course there are several other men of Easy Company that are battling extreme illness and are in financial turmoil because
of medical bills, so the money from the auction will still go to several men of Easy Company.

May Shifty Powers rest in peace.

Aw, that's so sad about Shifty passing! 

That in no way downgrades the cause of this auction though.

When I think about the guys I know and the things they do, and then the things that these guys did, it just blows my mind.  I don't think I know very many with the courage to even think about doing what they did.

I told Wild Bill you said hello; he smiled and says hello back. 

I didn't try taking my laptop over to his house yet to see if I have an internet connection from my house to show him the Shifty video.
We talked for about 20 minutes today and he told me some stories of Shifty.

Yesterday we sat and watched episode 7 with him; to watch history with a person that was there and helped make that history and during that time of his life that changed his life ...
... words cannot describe the feeling --- I know his family watched the mini series with him but I don't know who else has - it was quite an experience and we know
we're really blessed to have him in our life.  He didn't mind answering our questions either.

I caught that on the History channel too this weekend Barb!  And, so I pulled out the DVD's and popped in the first two.  Episode 2, when they jump; I CRY.  I mean, I BAWL.  I always cry in shows where people do amazing things.


When the series first came out, Spears & Wild Bill were my favorite characters; Spears because the actor was cute, and Wild Bill, because even just watching the series I keep saying "he's SO South Philly!" (You pretty much have to have lived there to recognize the "style") and he made me laugh.

So true Heather - you have to experience 'South Philly style' ... there's nothing like it ... not even North Philly where I grew up, not even New York City.
