Tales from the 1411... Yet more MidWinter Photos!
« on: Wednesday 18 February 2009, 21:26 »
Got everything uploaded!  I'm far to lazy/busy to do the captions and what not (I'm completely blowing off  A LOT of work just to post!); but I think most of us are catching on as to who is who and what's goin' on :)  I didn't separate Scythian pics out, so.. gee... you'll just have to suffer through them :)

This is my first weekend with my new camera; still a point and shoot, but I was pretty impressed with what the lil' guy turned out; in the full size (before uploading), there are a few that make me go "ooooooohhhh"...  So you'll see a lot of playing with settings.

Friday

That's Aya doing a 'keg stand' at the end...

The more graphic of "the signing" have been removed since this IS an all ages board :)
I added some of Dayshel's to the end - I um, seemed to, ah... stop taking pictures  :drunk

Sunday

Sunday I had Megan Fisher take several dozen; she had a BLAST playing with the super-zoom; I left pretty much every picture she took in that album.  The end holds the um, Canadian Celtic Band with random humorous tendencies...

Great shots, you really captured the moment.

The obligatory David Ross with conjoined St. Andrews Flag is great.  It simply isn't a Nach gig without him holding a weapon or flag up and screaming about a free Scotland: he gets the crowd ready for the experience!

Talk about politics in a good way   :D

I see my favorite pic from Saturday is in there. When am I getting my blown up version? :evilgrin

How did I miss Davie Ross stuffed in the cubbie? Hmmmm... That must have been when I was showing that girl how to do a jello shot, because I remember Kyle sitting in the other one.  Speaking of which. Kyle looks evilllll in his "cubbie" pic.  LOL

We...OK, Nikol, picks up the strangest men in bars. French men are pansies.  :p btw...I swabbed my curling iron down with alcohol.  ;)

Hey now "Buckey" was a very proper Canadian who insisted on us curling his hair.  Since he made fun of my Chicago "Indians" hat I had to torture him....ahem I mean Blackhawks LOL

Simon spoke French and when you called him a pansie he had no idea what you meant.  Buckey tried to translate but no luck.  LOL

That had to be the strangest mid winter moment.  Why did he want his hair curled? all I remember is "You have to have a vision!"

We should stop because no one has a clue what we are talking about :%  Sorry folks for hijacking the thread but this was by far one of the funniest mid winter moments!

:s I always miss the party...I call myself the "Misfits Misfit" because I can never seem to be in the right place at the right time and miss all of the antics. Well at least I saw the inside of 1411 and the jello shots before they were decimated. They even came with a "map!"

Yes, at first I was called names for making the map, but just think; ALLLLL those people asking "what's the orange one?  What's in the purple? Why is there an M on this?"  I'd have gone completely mental.  Self-serve, everyone! LOL

I thought you were a genius for making the jello shot map. "Amaretto Sours on Aisle One!" Another vote here on those being the bestest!

Aye, the dark green were the amaretto sour.  Those didn't have a very high alcohol content but MAN they did taste good :)  I for one CRAVE an amaretto sour now and then.  I should invent amaretto sour candy :)

The tartuga and the skittle were recipies I made up myself on the fly; I wasn't a professional liquor slinger for 10 years for nothin lol.

Looks like I'm repeating the jello factory for grandfather!!!!  :drunk

It's easier to make them there, Heather. Throughout the week, I make a couple large batches.
Some people hike, I make jello  LOL

I don't think I've ever premade them to take.

Hmm.... The way I had them in the cooler I had insullated rows of ice; jello stacked in rows then between the dividers; ice em up!  They were still cold after 4 days and I never re-iced them; I'll ponder on site though.  If I premake, then that's just less stuff to have to take.    With my roomie's restaurant; it took me only 2 hours to make near 400 of em.

Thanks for the input, Connie!
