Great pics!  thanks for posting!
A dog is truly a man's best friend.
If you don't believe it, just try this experiment.
Put your dog and your wife in the trunk of the car for an hour.
When you open the trunk, who is really happy to see you????????

Great pics.  They all seem to be having such a good time.   Could be one of the reasons we all have such a good time.  But where were  the dancers?

anyone else feel confuzzled by the reverse order in which they're standing?  does not compute...

MiLadyD,

Great photos, what kind of camera were you using ? The exposure was perfect, I have a terrible time getting the Fstop correct and getting crisp, non blurry images. Especially with Kyle.

We're there, on a couple of pics on Davy's side of the stage.

Love the pictures! Especially the ones of the boys horsing around on stage. It was fun watching them. Good memories indeed.

Onodacops, using a Nikon D2XS.  Yes, I have also experienced difficulties with all the action on stage......
received a lesson from my nephew and seems to have helped immensely.  His suggestion, try and keep
F-stop between 6.3 and 8 (F8 is the secret of life, I have a teeshirt that says so) and shutter speed 1000 or
higher (not always possible). Always willing to help a fellow photographer, Good Luck!   :D

Great pictures MiladyDi!  Thanks for sharing!

I like that they switched places ......... a change is as good as a rest - so they say.

Some great pictures of Jacquie, she really looks like she's having a great time - really fired up!

Ditto!!  LOL

It was nice to see Davey really get down and dance, and I don't think I've seen Jacquie smile so much! :)

Anna & Leigh, you know , we should really bug the hell out of the promoters for the Ft. Lauderdale Scottish Festival to have Albannach play next year. The festival was only one day this year, but it was the weekend just before they played in Winter Springs.....and if they have plans to come back this way next year, maybe they could add that gig to the schedule.
I'm certainly gonna praise the promoters of the Central Florida Highland Games & the Ft. Myers Celtic Festival for their smart move to add Albannach to the line-up..with a suggestion for their return next year.
Also, heard about a Medieval festival in Ft. Myers in Jan/Feb and Ren-fest in Tampa.....maybe we can keep them in Florida for all of Jan & Feb 2010!!!!!! :bounce :bounce :bounce :bounce :bounce :bounce :bounce

Excellent idea!   :bounce  I'll add it to my list of letters to write! Of course I'll be writing to the Winter Springs and Ft Myers people too.

I'll have my friends drop Ft Laud. a line too. There were eight of them there on Sunday, that I saw, there may have been more wandering around. They had heard the CDs and liked the music, but they were very, very impressed with the live performance! (As if they wouldn't be  :p)

That's the thing......you have to EXPERIENCE Alabannach live!
Recordings just don't do them justice, you have to feel the sound of the drums reverberating inside you!and you can only do that in person!

Absolutely. The live experience is a must. Although I have to say that the quality of their recordings is much better than a lot of other CDs I've heard of drumming. Most of them lack the resonance that Albannach has in theirs. I don't know how they do it, but whatever they do, it sure works  :D

Speaking as a performer at FlaRF, if we start a petition now, we might be able to convince them to keep the band for more than one weekend next year. When the gypsy dance troupe changed hands, we started our petition DURING Faire to allow the new management (same dancers) to keep performing the next year, and it worked..

I got bored at work and set up the online petition: http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/Albannach2010/ .

Please sign it. I'd like to send it by 10/1/2009, as I know they start siging contracts in November.

Keep in mind that it also depends on the band's touring schedule. Last year they performed for more than one weekend. I did write to FLRF last year (not to Bobby, to the entertainment coordinator) and he said that he had been in contact with the band and that they were available for only Feb 7 & 8.
